Today is the big day for the tennis star who declared her plans of getting married to Sohrab Mirza (her childhood friend) about a month back saying that the engagement..... will take place on July 10.








It was a very glamorous event that took place at Hotel Taj Krishna, Hyderabad on Friday which celebrated the engagement of tennis star Sania Mirza to her childhood friend, Mohammed Sohrab Mirza. Both of them had gifted each other their attires for the evening. While Sania sported a diamond studded gold-laced pink ghagra choli designed by Shantanu Nikhil which reportedly cost around 20 lakhs, Sohrab was dressed in a white Armani suit, with a diamond broach.







A black BMW announced the arrival of the bride-to-be to this lavish event, which saw Sania and Sohrab cut a specially made 10 kg cake from Bakers Inn to celebrate their engagement. The event was attended by 350 guests most of whom were family friends and VIPs such as Union Minister D Purandhareswari and badminton star Pullela Gopichand.The event also witnessed the presence of a large number of security guards who were employed in huge numbers to keep out the media and make sure that all went well for Sania on her special day.The wedding is scheduled to take place sometime next year and until then, Sohrab will pursue an MBA in England and Sania will continue with her game.







Son of a city based businessman, Sohrab Mirza has been known to be a MBA student. Sania Mirza’s father, who wants to make the ceremony a private affair has been quoted saying to the media, “This is a private affair and we request the media to cooperate with us.” Recently, two men identified as Ajay Singh Yadav and Mohammed Ashraf were arrested after they tried to create trouble for the star player and her family, claiming themselves to be in love with her.
